あやかしごはん ~おかわりっ!~ Ayakashi Gohan ~Okawari!~ Common Route ~ Human!Rin

pc_1920_1080

This is the common route for Human!Rin. It’s noticeably longer than Ayakashi Rin with a more in-depth story.

It was April; a new school term started and it was finally Rin’s third year of high school. They get assigned seats and Rin gets a seat near the window. Suddenly, there’s a transfer student named Kimura Asagi. He’s seated next to Rin and they both introduce themselves. When he calls Rin on a first name basis though Uta and Suou get iffy about it LOL. After school Uta and Suou try and bring Rin home so she doesn’t get chatty with Asagi, but suddenly a nut is thrown from the window and Uta protects Rin from it. On their way back Rin wonders why Uta was so hostile towards Asagi but apparently he gets a sort of atmosphere he’s going to try to take Rin away. She wonders what he said and he gets embarrassed and tells her to forget it.

Finally, all of them eat together on the hill. Asagi suddenly appears too but of course Uta and Suou aren’t happy about that. He asks if they’re eating lunch and Rin tells him they are. Unfortunately, he hadn’t brought any so Rin offers for him to eat half of hers. Though to her dismay, she actually forgot to make her own lunch as well. So Haginosuke suggests that they all share their lunch with Rin and Asagi. Rin finds it strange that her lunch is gone though since she was certain she had it. Anyway, Haginosuke introduces everyone to Asagi and he finds them to be an interesting bunch. Haginosuke then invites him to join his “Ayakashi Search Club” he raves about.

During class Asagi remembers he forgot his textbook so Rin offers to let him use hers. But right when she does, Uta and Suou pop in front of her and ask her to use their textbooks. Haginosuke is able to fix this by letting him just use his. When class is about to start Rin notices the pointy nuts on her chair as if someone purposely put them there so she’d sit on them. Rin doesn’t know who’s harassing her but she tells Uta nad Yomi who notice she’s seemed down about it. So one stole the keylock to her bag, took her lunch, and planted pointy nuts on her chair. Suddenly the two small Ayakashi known as Zashikiwarashi and Hitotsumekozou appear from the first game. They tell Rin they weren’t responsible but they smell the scent of another Ayakashi responsible.

Rin is taking printouts to the class since the teacher asked her too. Though it’s pretty heavy and while she struggles to carry it, she feels a shove on her back and falls over. Thankfully, Haginosuke arrives in the knick of time to help her. She tells him that she felt as if someone pushed her, but apparently there’s no one there except her and Haginosuke. He starts this speculation that there’s some sort of mysterious happenings with people who sit in the window chair where she is. Anyway, Haginosuke suggests they come up with an idea to make Suou and Uta become better friends with Asagi.

So one day after school, Haginosuke tells Asagi that the principal called him to the office. So once Asagi leaves, Haginosuke announces that he wants to have a welcoming party for Asagi. Yomi believes Rin should be in charge of cooking food since she’s learned a lot from Gin. That night Rin is troubled over the fact she wants to make a really great welcoming party for Asagi but Suou and Uta are so hostile towards him. Gin suggests that they’re just having a hard time adjusting to someone new. So this leads Rin to believe she just needs to get Uta and Suou to warm up to Asagi like she had to when she first met them.

So the next day at school Haginosuke and Rin tell Asagi he’s invited to a welcoming party for him. He asks what they’ll be doing and RIn says they’ll have fun while eating delicious food. Though Asagi was caught on by the “delicious food” part lol. Unfortunately, Suou and Uta still don’t want to accept him nor participate in his welcoming party. So on the actually day of the party, everyone gets preparations done to the classroom. After they ready up the classroom for tomorrow’s welcoming party, Rin gets a bad feeling since the Ayakashi that had been harassing her hadn’t done anything yet.

So she wants to check up on the decorations they put up. When they get back to the classroom they hear crying and there they find an Ayakashi boy. Apparently his name is Chiko and he came from the mountains. He has no family and has always been alone. One day he went down to the village for the first time and tried to talk with some kids but no one noticed or saw him. He visited a school and one boy named Yuichi noticed his presence. He got along with him well and when Yuichi asked if he had a name, he said he didn’t. So Yuichi decided to name him Chiko. He started to realize many interesting things about humans. Over time though, Yuichi eventually graduated. So he no longer went to school but instead left far off to go to University. Chiko waited for him to come back at the school but he never did and had been waiting all this time.

So the seat Rin has been sitting in the entire time was Yuichi’s seat. And Chiko makes sure to harass anyone who sits in the seat since it’s reserved for Yuichi. Rin explains to Chiko that school is the place of meeting and separation. He made many happy memories with his special friend Yuichi but it came to an end when he graduated. But now he can make new friends and Rin is more than happy to be his friend. Haginosuke speaks up and says that even though he can’t hear or see him, he’d love to be his friend too. Yomi’s all “why are you talking to the wall, chiko is right over there” to Haginosuke ((I died laughing)). They suggest to Chiko that he comes to their party together to eat some tasty food. Unfortunately, he runs off saying he absolutely won’t join their party. They then mention that even if you separate from someone, you can meet someone new. That’s when Asagi gets brought up and Haginosuke jokes that they’re afraid Asagi is gonna take Rin away from Suou and Uta. They deny it furiously while blushing but Haginosuke can tell he’s right on the mark. Rin laughs and tells them that Asagi isn’t going to take her away. After all, she loves them. Uta gets super blushy and calls her a “baka” for saying something like that. Suou’s all “Oh, I knew you loved me from the start” LOL. But anyway, Rin believes that the Ayakashi will come to the party tomorrow.

The next day Tsuzuri comes with Rin to the party. There he meets Chiko who also came as well. Rin introduces Tsuzuri to him and tells him that he was an Ayakashi as well. Asagi then comes into the classroom and everyone surprises him with the party. Asagi thanks them all and they all enjoy a delicious meal together. Suou and Uta then do a performance they were working on. Uta starts doing backflips and Suou makes a bridge with his body ((LOL))). Thankfully Chiko had fun and after the party Chiko and Tsuzuri draw together. Tsuzuri draws a picture of him and Chiko starts getting upset saying that Yuichi was better at drawing. Chiko runs off and the rest of them follow him. He starts crying on the flowers and they start to glow. Rin tells him if he’s lonely he should talk with them so they can help. But right when she touches him, she’s shown a memory of Yuichi and Chiko together. They spent a lot of time together before Yuichi left for university. Yuichi told Chiko he’ll make many friends besides him but Chiko believes only he’ll ever be his friend. Anyway, Chiko promised to always protect his seat while waiting for him.

Rin then asks the crying Chiko to be her friend. Tsuzuri does too and says he wants to play more with him. And not just them either, everyone wants to be Chiko’s friend. He starts crying saying he was lonely without Yuichi but is glad to have so many friends. Afterwords, Asagi believes that Chiko is the child of a dragon. Rin asks how Asagi knows that and he’s just like “I wonder…”. Uta and Suou then get jelly again from seeing her so close to Asagi. He tells him they may be companions but that doesn’t mean he can get close to Rin. They’re surprised though cause not only did he call Asagi a “companion” but he also called him by his name.

Several weeks had passed since they met Chiko and they’d all been happily getting along with him. One day Rin, Uta, and Tsuzuri are shopping and they notice a guy on his bike who’s name is Yuichi. The next day at school Rin has after school duties. So they rest of them wait on her until she’s done. Chiko sits with her to see what’s she’s doing and Rin asks her questions related to Yuichi. She wants to try and confirm the appearance of the man she saw earlier but unfortunately isn’t able to get enough information. Later after school, Rin turns in her papers along with Chiko. It’s then when she’s turning them in to the teacher she spots the same guy named Yuichi she saw earlier. He’s a graduate of the school and is now part of a university in Tokyo. The teacher asks him to guide him to the class since he hasn’t seen it in a while. Once Rin takes him there he talks about the desk he sat in for his 3 years of high school that still has the drawing he drew. It’s then Chiko realizes it’s Yuichi and calls out to him. But unfortunately, he can’t hear Chiko no matter how many times he calls out to him.

A few days passed since Yuichi visited the school. Chiko hadn’t been visiting recently and when Rin goes to check up on him, he’s very distant and doesn’t talk much. Rin wants to help Chiko by any means, so she asked the teacher for Yuichi’s address and plans to go visit him. So everyone comes with her to go meet Yuichi. They find him near his address and greet him. She tells him that she can see Ayakashi and that they live all throughout the village. She tells him about when he was in his third year of high school, he became acquainted with a child Ayakashi named Chiko. And that Chiko had been waiting for him all this time. Yuichi admits that he did know Chiko and he remembers him well. Rin asks if he can go meet him since he’s been waiting for him for a long time. Yuichi apologizes but tells them that he can’t meet Chiko since he can’t sense his presence anymore. Ever since he was young he could sense the presence or hear the voices of other beings or Ayakashi but he could never see them. But now he can no longer hear or feel their presence and he’d feel bad to meet Chiko like that so he wants to refrain from meeting him.

When they get home they encounter an Ayakashi named Shion who is apparently aquainted with Yomi and Uta. Apparently she’s an Ayakashi that sings in order to inform people it’s spring. She sings one of her songs before she leaves and Rin thinks it’s sounds wonderful and very soothing. Apparently her song is sends the pleasure and sadness of spring through the “heart” directly. Just before Shion is about to leave, Rin calls out to her for a favor.

Rin meets up with Chiko and tells him that she wants to talk to him about Yuichi. Chiko believes Yuichi no longer likes him but Rin says he’s wrong. She tells him that Yuichi remembers him well and that Yuichi can no longer hear Ayakashi. It’s then Shion appears as planned by Rin. She wants Chiko to sing in order to deliver Yuichi’s feelings directly to him. So after practicing for a while, they realize not much progress. Uta realizes that Chiko may be tone-deaf but Chiko gets annoyed and says he hasn’t sung before and it’s not like Uta can sing either. But right after that Uta shows off his wonderful singing voice so apparently he actually can sing. Apparently Yomi wrote lyrics before that Uta had sung LOL. So they suggest they write a song especially for Chiko to sing.

So after a lot of practice, they’re finally able to create an original song for Chiko. It’s raining one day so they can’t practice outside. Rin believes Chiko will be able to do his best if he sees Yuichi so they suggest they visit his house. So when they do, they meet his mother who says he’s gathering plants at the mountains and hasn’t returned yet. It starts to rain and since Yuichi hasn’t returned yet in this weather, Chiko is worried so he immediately runs off to find Yuichi. They follow after him and realize that it may be an Ayakashi manipulating the weather. Chiko runs off in a hurry realizing Yuichi may be in danger, and Rin follows after him. But while chasing after Chiko, Rin slipped and fell off a small cliff of the mountain. She meets Chiko at the bottom and apparently she injured her foot. Chiko feels bad but Rin tells him the injury isn’t too bad and not to worry about it. It’s then Chiko suddenly hears Yuichi’s voice and runs after it. They find Yuichi buried under dirt and realize he’s lost consciousness. Chiko calls out to him and promises him that he’ll help him.

It’s then Chiko’s entire form changes into a beautiful dragon Ayakashi. He carries Yuichi and rescues him. When Chiko reverts back to his other form, he falls unconscious after using a lot of power. Later on back at ponpokorin, they find out Yuichi is okay and just resting at the hospital. Chiko finally wakes up and they enjoy a delicious meal together. While Rin is doing the dishes with Gin, she asks if someday she too will stop seeing or hearing Ayakashi. Gin says there’s no telling what the future will hold, so you never truly know. But even if that does ever happen, they’re making a lot of memories together now. So everyone goes home and Chiko promises he’ll sing for Yuichi when he wakes up.

Several days pass and Chiko practiced his song over time. Finally, Yuichi was discharged from the hospital and Rin decided to go meet him. She brings him food to congratulate him for leaving the hospital. He thanks Rin for helping him and also mentions he felt like he heard the Chiko just before he lost consciousness. Though he felt it was strange since he can no longer hear the voices of Ayakashi. But Rin assures him that what he heard was Chiko’s voice. It’s then a gust of wind passes and Yuichi hears a song that makes him cry. Rin notices that Chiko is right beside Yuichi singing his song for him.

After that, Chiko is relieved that his song could be heard by Yuichi that he starts crying. Uta calls him a crybaby but Rin says it’s okay and he’ll someday grow up to be a cool-looking adult Ayakashi. Chiko then clings to Rin making Uta and Suou super jealous lol. One day after school Yuichi suddenly appears to meet Rin and everyone. Apparently he wants them to give Chiko a flower crown. After Yuichi leaves, Rin gives it to Chiko and all promise to make happy memories together.

Thoughts: This common route was a lot better than Ayakashi!Rin’s. That one was way too short. I’m not sure why they didn’t just make each equally as long but… ah, well. Uta and Suou got jealous a lot in this though, haha.
