Forgotten Apostle (CV: Taniyama Kishou) mysterious young man who is involved with the lost of sound cases.
A flashback shows the Apostle when he was a boy. He grew up not knowing who or where he came from but existed in Shall. All the noise around him made him in pain so he always hated it. Everyone avoided him as he decided he didn’t need friends, family, or music and wanted to erase all sounds. One day though, he encountered a girl (Lied) who thanked him for passing the ball to her. As time passes, Apostle still doesn’t know his purpose but ends up in a dream-like world where a man who wants to perform ends up disappearing after being consumed by darkness.
One day the Apostle hears a constant sound and out of curiosity, decides to find the source of it. He searches a pipe of trash all night until he finds a broken music box. Just as he realize he just picked up trash, the music box speaks and repeats itself. He decides to try and fix it by researching it in the library. After sudden pain, he runs outside and gets hit by the butcher he stole meat from. He gets more aggressive and slashes him with his butchers knife. As a mass of darkness starts to appear, the Apostle makes it disappear not knowing what he did. Soon the music box appears and kills the butcher while the Apostle falls unconscious.
When Apostle wakes up, the music box introduces herself as Realm. Apparently she could hear him the whole time but just couldn’t speak and didn’t expect he’d be able to fix her. So as time passes they live in the broken clock tower while Realm tells Apostle all sorts of different things. After that, Realm encounters Aisen who wishes to speak to her. He manages to convince her in order to save “Apostle” he should erase all sounds that try to hurt him. Since Apostle is constantly in pain, Realm decides to convince Apostle to erase the darkness in sound in order to save himself.
In the present, Lied runs off into town after losing Soprano and encounters Apostle. He tries to erase her sound but she has no darkness. This is when everyone else from the orchestra appears to fight him, saying he’s the person responsible for the “loss of sound” incidents. Just as Arushe decides they should try to just kill him then and there, Lied protects Apostle and takes the blow instead, cutting her shoulder. She tells them she doesn’t want anyone else to disappear like Soprano did. Hart tries to calm her down but the darkness surrounding them makes her slap his hand away.
Suddenly, Apostle makes his move and uses his power to knock them all unconscious. Apostle asks why Lied helped him and she again says she didn’t want to lose anyone. She eventually falls unconscious from loss of blood. When she wakes up, she’s in the broken clock tower with Realm and the Apostle who saved her (he claims on a whim lmao tsuntsun). Realm asks why he brought her and he says its doing no harm anyway. Once Fier appears and sees her though she flips out and almost attacks her before Realm stops her. She asks about her and Fier reveals that Lied has a sort of power that can resurrect unheard sounds and amplify them like speakers (Fier ends up calling her a youkai speaker lmao).
Realizing that this could be a threat to their plans, they know the orchestra will be looking for Lied anyway so in the end, Realm decides its best they keep Lied with them and monitor the situation in the orchestra while planning to attack. Since their darkness isn’t completely bare, thats why he failed to erase their sound in the first place. So while Realm orders Fia to come with her and check out the situation, Lied is left alone in the clock tower with a silent Apostle in the corner. She thinks about Soprano and wanting to find him and Apostle ends up scaring the crap out of her lmao. She asks to go outside since she’s hungry but he knows she probably just wants to try and escape. But knowing she probably couldn’t anyway, he tells her to come with him.
When they go outside though Lied suddenly has a pain in her ears and can’t hear anything. When Apostle takes her back to the clock tower he realizes his power suddenly did work on her from when he tried before. Because of this he has to write on a notepad for her to understand (since he can’t write very well his handwriting is sloppy lol). He asks her who she’s looking for and Lied tells him Soprano is who she’s looking for and he’s her one and only family. She draws a picture of Soprano which makes Apostle laugh 😂. So she introduces herself formally as Lied and he decides he’ll help her.
That night, Lied has a dream where she could hear and saw Apostle maliciously teasing an abandoned baby by pinching his cheeks. When she wakes up, Apostle comes back and writes on the notebook asking what exactly “family” is since he tried looking but doesn’t have experience with it himself. Lied goes on to explain Soprano is her non-blood related family but someone she grew up with and always had around. She asks if he had someone like that and he tells her he hadn’t. Lied tells him she believes its possible for Apostle to find someone like that since he’s kind. Apostle gets completely bewildered by her calling him kind saying lol you know what I’ve been doing in Shall right?? Nevertheless she still believes it and he just shrugs it off and goes to bed.
Lied then has another dream of Apostle but he’s younger. He says the same things to the baby and makes it cry. This then causes Soprano to appear and start singing to it. After Lied wakes up, she realizes this dream was a memory of her past. Apostle was actually the one who helped her have a family by making her cry and getting herself noticed by Soprano. After realizing this, she runs out of the clock tower and finds Apostle in the rain. She still can’t hear but tells him he’s the reason she was able to have a family and may have died if she wasn’t noticed and thanks him for finding her. Apostle acts tsun about it but decides to give up since she can’t hear him anyway.
Before they leave Lied decides she wants to stay sheltered by the rain a little longer so she and Apsotle sit under the tree together. Lied ends up falling asleep on him and Apostle feels a warmth he’s never felt before. When Apostle wakes up, he sees a bird but it can’t talk and ends up flying away. After Lied wakes up he tells her to come with her. They end up at Beethoven’s mansion and Apostle writes characters on Lied’s hand to tell her he’s going in to look for Soprano and she can wait outside. Lied listens at first but decides she needs to go to so she enters the mansion which is pitch dark.
She then sees a person that introduces himself as Beethoven. He tells her a bit about his life story and how he came to love music. However, he was consumed by darkness and anguish after he started to completely lose his hearing from his ear disease. Back to Apsotle, he sees a vision of Beethoven performing and how he succumbed to darkness. It was then he wrote his will of Heiligenstadt as he was complitating suicide. Suddenly, Aisen appears and calls Apsotle, “Heiligenstadt” explaining that is his true name because he was born from Beethoven’s will.
Meanwhile, Lied had heard everything about Apostle, or Heiligenstadt, from Beethoven. She decides that she’ll find Heiligenstadt and tell him everything. As she leaves, Beethoven tells Soprano to go after her and thanks him and his “daughter” (so Lied is basically sorta Beethoven’s daughter I guess?? I guessed about this being the case). Finally, Soprano catches up to Lied and surprises her. She’s happy he’s finally back though and realizes she can hear now. Apparently it was wasn’t because of Heiligenstadt, but rather she rejected music because she was afraid of it.
When Lied finds Aisen, Heiligenstadt is unconscious on the floor. Aisen begins to babble on about his plans and how Fatalität (the organization that protected music) was formed. Apparently Beethoven’s will was a threat to them since it was a manifestation of darkness. But since no one could enter Beethoven’s mansion, they couldn’t dispose of his will and had to keep watch of the situations regarding music. Aisen became the commander with no interest in music but planned on using Heiligenstadt to erase everything. But he needs Heiligenstadt to be consumed by darkness so he decides he’ll shoot Lied.
Just before he can though, Realm intervenes and protects her. He dodges his bullets foe a while but Aisen gets pissed and decides to shoot at Heiligenstadt, knowing full well Realm would protect him so she gets shot instead and breaks. Aisen then laughs and aims his gun at Lied, getting ready to shoot her next. Heiligenstadt loses it and ends up using his power, engulfing the whole place in a white light. When Lied wakes up, she’s in the same white open space she’s seen in her dream. She eventually finds Heiligenstadt in a depressed state. She tries to approach him but each time she gets rejected, she tries over and over again.
So for her voice to reach him, she starts crying. Finally, he notices her and she hugs him tightly as he goes on about how his existence is worthless and he’s nothing but trash. But Lied tells him that he’s wrong and reveals the true story about Beethoven and his birth. After despairing, Beethoven fell off a cliff and was saved by some common townsfolk. He couldn’t hear so he lives normally without music. Eventually he met a bird (Soprano who couldn’t talk at first) and instinctively created a song. Beethoven could never actually abandon his love for music which became Lied, the embodiment of his love for music.
Lied confirms to Heiligenstadt that she was still born because of him and Beethoven’s will was more than just anguish, it was also the realization he couldn’t part from music because he loved it so much. Heiligenstadt almost starts crying and Lied kisses him. She tells him to sing to get back to the real world and so he does (he actually does start singing lmao). After that, time passes and Aisen is nowhere to be found. Everyone else in the orchestra accepted Heiligenstadt and now Bianca is forcing him and Lied into the actual band. Arushe ends up teasing Lied to and Heiligenstadt gets super jealous, telling him to not touch Lied since she’s his lmaoo. On the day of their performance, they all end up performing togethee, including Heiligenstadt. In the epilogue, Heiligenstadt goes shopping with Lied and finds out what a date is from Bianca lmao. Also that kissing someone is a way of affection so he snatches a kiss on the cheek (WHY NOT LIPS DAMN U PURE BOY).
Thoughts: THIS BOY IS TOO PRECIOUS FOR THIS WORLD. Okay, but woW if this route was executed better and was LONGER I think he’d be my fave. But unfortunately, it fell short and was kind of anti-climatic. It kind of reminded me of 7’scarlet’s secret route cause it kind of shoves the plot at the end. You actually get a bulk of his backstory though which makes you sympathize with him more AND ALL THIS BOI WANTED WAS A FAMILY. Oh my god though Aisen was such a shit in this route. Even worse than in Hart’s route. Yet, we don’t really get a big grand finale battle; its more like ‘villain goes missing but things are now suddenly back to normal’. After what happened to Realm, I’m sure Apostle wanted to beat the shit out of that megane. ANYWAY, as for the excited name reveal lmao…. to think this boy was a piece of paper all along! Its strange they already briefly explained this in Hart’s route. I didn’t really get why they’d reveal it before you played his actual route but… eh. I also find it funny that they all just casually call him this long ass german name. Aside from the fact this route wasn’t as satisfying as I had hoped. I REALLY liked the beginning of it. Especially when Lied lost her hearing and he had to write with his really bad hand writing AND LIED SHOWED HIM THE DRAWING OF SOPRANO SHE DREW AND HE ACTUALLY WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO TRY AND FIND HIM. It was so cute…. BUT DAMMIT THE END WAS RUSHED. AND I WANTED A BETTER KISS CG. I guess the end CG was really adorable but…. I wanted more… siIGh.
