This honestly wasn’t planned at all. I enjoyed the trial and somehow I ended up translating it. Anyway, I think I did a lot better with my revising this time. While translating the Re:Birth trial I didn’t revise it as well. Thankfully, I’m fixing it up for my actual english patch, but I made sure to not to make too many mistakes with this one. Plus, I actually knew what I was doing when inserting text.
So here are the steps:
- You can download the trial here
- change your locale to Japanese if you don’t know already
- All you need to do is overwrite the Rio.arc with file with the one provided.
The directions are more or less the same as the Re:Birth trial. I didn’t do anything different so don’t worry. The heroine’s default name is “Kanno Hotori” by the way. It’s still in Japanese and the last name is first. So when you input a name remember to start with your last name (if you didn’t already know…)
Anyways, hope you enjoy this trial as well! Look forward to an actual translation of Re:Birth in the future (I don’t have plans for this game yet) but I’d be happy to hear your thoughts and y’know.
Thank you for doing the translations once again! I really do hope in the future you do the full translation for this game as well! 🙂
It was so well done! I hope you consider a full translation in the future.
Thank you! I’m certainly considering it, yes. Once I finish the first game in the series (Re:Birthday Song) it’d be the second game on my list to translate. Anyhow, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
How do you overwrite the rio.arc? When i downloaded it, I only got the exe and txt file. 😦 (If I posted this comment again sorry, I wasn’t sure if I commented when I was on my phone.)
Sorry for meddling, but here’s what you have to do:
I’m guessing you’re talking about the trial? You have to install it first with the .exe file. Just click “次へ” ’till it says “インストール”, and then wait. When it’s finished, click the “終了” button. You’ll now have a folder in Program Files named “honeybee”, and inside should be this game’s folder (“Un:BIRTHDAY SONG~愛を唄う死神~(体験版)”). That’s where you should replace the Rio.arc.
Thanks a lot! I didn’t know so that helped. xD
I’ve already played it, it was a lot of fun! I loved the way you translated it, it seemed very fitting. It’s awesome you could make it look so well though you’ve translated it by yourself.
That aside, I’m definitely going for Rikka first when I get the game :3 I like the idea of the plot, I’m glad they made good use of the world they created to fit a different scenario.
Thank you very much for all the work, I’m sure it means a lot for quite some people <3. I'll be rooting for you in case you choose to work on Re:BS.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I did a lot of revising with this trial and tried to make sure it was free of typos and grammar errors. So I’m really glad it paid off! ;D It really is interesting, I haven’t started the actual game yet but I will (soon). And you’re welcome! I’m happy to have others play it. And I have started up a team for Re:BS so hopefully that translation will go along smoothly!
Thank you so much for your translation! It must have been a lot of hard work, but its really well done!
excuse me~ i’m really like- a super beginner in playing otome games, and actually this is my first time trying.. >< thank you-!
Thanks for the translation! I can’t wait for your translation of Re:Birth, thanks again for your hard work and your dedication 🙂
Amm … sorry, but you know what they call the opening of the 2 Otomes? I’d really like to know them, please. I’ll let the links that appear on YouTube and hopefully you can answer, thanks.
So you mean the titles of the songs? Well, the one for Un:Birthday is called “Reincarnation” And the one for Re:Birthday Song is called 『千年恋歌』or “Thousand-Year Love Song”. They’re actually in the description of the videos along with the lyrics.
Hi! I really enjoyed your trial version, but isn’t there a complete version of the game, instead of the trial? Or has it not been translated yet?
Thank you! And yes there is, but no it hasn’t been translated yet. I’m working on translating Re:Birthday Song now though. So hopefully you can look forward to that one in the meantime!
Oh, okay, thank you! cause I really liked and enjoyed the trial version, and it made me want to go further, though I’m not so much into otome games! xD You are a reeaaal good translator so good luck, and I’m looking forward to your next translation of the game! 😉
yuTHANKYOU SO MUCH
i love it but i was wondering if the game is voiced, because i dont hear any of the characters speaking
You’re welcome! And yeah it’s voiced, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t hear the characters speak unless you turned off the voices. Plus you should hear background music too.
Thank you for taking the time to do this 🙂
I have a quick question:
Does this work on windows 8.1?
You’re welcome!~ And yeah it definitely should since I have windows 8.1.
Hi there! I tried to download it but I failed.. I have windows 8.1 but it doesn’t work. I don’t know if I download it wrong .. well I see this http://i.imgur.com/Vdf3wAE.png and when I click on OK I see this http://i.imgur.com/lVmbSdg.png.. what should I do? And thanks again ~ ♥
From what I can tell, I’m pretty sure your locale isn’t set to Japanese. If you do that it should appear with Japanese text and not gibberish.
i did the things that is written above but the game is still in japanese… what do i do?
Sorry, you’ll need to be more specific. Your game shouldn’t be in Japanese if your locale is set to Japan and you restarted your computer afterwords.
I need help please!
I download the files and did exactly like you instructed to, but when I tried to run the game, it popped up an error.
It said Direct Input then something else in Japanese.
The exact same thing happened to Re: Birthday too.
I have my laptop language set to Japanese already so I don’t know it did that.
My laptop is Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Please help, I really want to play this game.
Thank you 🙂
hey, how do you overwrite the rio.arc? i already changed the region to japanese, but it still do not working, the language was still japanase, can you help me? 😦
thankyou so muchh_<
I thank you very much for the translation. I liked Rikka from the first sight very much and he’s the reason why I downloaded the game and his character is much better than I though. without yer translation I wouldn’t be able to see him even if it was for a brief moments :’3 , but sadly the game showed an error message after the opening. It’s in Japanese and I don’t know Japanese >< ,so if it doesn't bother ya, can ya help me?
plus I downloaded the full game and put the trial Rio.arc with it. Is that may cause the problem? :"3
The error message:

I have a question, i play the game in English now due to my not knowing Japanese yet. And im interested in Nami route. I have translated the walkthrough from a Japanese site with google translate. Now the pre answers to get to that route is to talk to yuyu only in all the options i cant select it. What made me wonder if you still need to translate and update the patch in order to do his route. Or do you get a extra option after you done the other guys first?
Nami’s route is locked no matter what until you do everyone else. So choices will appear after you do the rest of he routes first.
